Description As an Amazon Fleet Remediation Data Center Retrofit Mechanical Engineer, you will lead design projects in operational data centers, that remediate issues, upgrade our existing infrastructure or add new services. You will be the 'go to' engineering resource for these projects and will provide lifecycle support from design through implementation. You will use your (mechanical or electrical) expertise to:
- Own the design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions which add data center infrastructure, capacity, improve availability, and/or increase sustainability.
- Perform design and equipment submittal review for Data Centers in your region.
- Interface with internal and external data center design engineering team, server hardware team, environmental health and safety team, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.
- Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.
- Act as technical subject matter expert for your given discipline during new remediation projects.
- Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover.

- Have experience managing engineering projects and engineering consultants.

- Manage design and as built drawings and documents
- Prepare and present progress reports to all relevant stakeholders

You will prioritize your activities to closely collaborate with capacity planning & delivery teams to identify opportunities to increase capacity utilization and develop designs for projects to unblock the additional capacity. - 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer License
- Experience with building codes and regulations for your region
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
- Knowledge of both mechanical and electrical equipment or design related to data center electrical and mechanical topology

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
