Shop Mechanic
  • Heavy Equipment & Fleet Midland Electric Inc.
| Davenport, WA Full-Time Keep critical equipment running. Take ownership of the fleet. Be part of a team that depends on you. Midland Electric is a commercial electrical contractor based in Davenport, WA, specializing in public infrastructure projects including street lighting, wastewater treatment, and water systems across Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. We are looking for a skilled and experienced Shop Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of bucket trucks, semi-trucks, and company vehicles . This role is critical to keeping our field crews productive and our projects on schedule. Key Responsibilities Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment and fleet vehicles Work on bucket trucks, semi-trucks, trailers, and service vehicles Accurately diagnose mechanical issues and complete timely repairs Perform annual inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards Monitor and manage maintenance budgets for equipment and fleet Schedule preventative maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime Coordinate repair timelines and communicate schedules with PMs and field crews Maintain accurate service records and documentation using computer-based systems Support occasional after-hours service calls and overtime as needed Operate tools and equipment safely and follow all company safety protocols What We're Looking For Strong experience with heavy equipment and fleet vehicle repair Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical issues efficiently Comfortable using computers for tracking maintenance, parts, and service logs Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Strong communication skills—able to coordinate between shop, field crews, and project managers Self-motivated and able to work independently without constant supervision Team-oriented with a willingness to jump in where needed Preferred Experience Experience working on bucket trucks and aerial equipment Familiarity with DOT inspections and compliance Experience in construction, utility, or contractor fleet environments Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay (DOE) Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance Retirement plan Paid vacation Overtime opportunities Stable, long-term work with a growing company Why Midland Electric Steady pipeline of public works projects Equipment and fleet that are critical to real infrastructure work Team environment where your role directly impacts field success Opportunity to take ownership of systems and improve processes Apply Today employment@midlandelectricinc.com 509-725-7005
