Job Description

ABC Auto Repair | Seattle, WA Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Experienced Technician ABC Auto Repair is not trying to be just another repair shop.
We are building something bigger:
a high-performing, people-focused shop where technicians have the tools, training, support, and standards to do excellent work and keep growing. We are veteran-owned, locally rooted, and entering an exciting stage of growth, including the purchase of our property, additional lifts, expanded capacity, and future plans for additional locations. This is a shop for someone who wants to be part of the future of auto repair, not just clock in, turn wrenches, and go through the motions. We work on a wide variety of vehicles, including domestic, Asian, European, light-duty diesel, Jeep, off-road, and fleet vehicles. European experience is a plus, but it is not required. If you understand vehicle theory, can think through a problem, and are willing to learn, we can train the platform-specific details. What matters most here is ownership. We are looking for a technician who takes pride in doing the job right, communicates clearly, documents their work, supports the team, and keeps learning as the industry changes. You do not need to know everything, but you do need to be the kind of person who will use the resources available, ask the right questions, follow a test plan when needed, and stay committed to finding the correct repair. What You'll Be Doing In this role, you will perform thorough vehicle inspections, complete repairs independently, document findings clearly, and work with the team to keep vehicles moving through the shop efficiently. The work is a mix of maintenance, mechanical repair, and testing, so we need someone who is comfortable staying productive while also slowing down enough to be accurate when the job requires it. Depending on your experience, you may be handling: Brakes, suspension, steering, cooling systems, driveline, and transmission R&R Engine repair, including external components, timing components, and more advanced repair strategy Electrical testing using DVOM, wiring diagrams, scan data, and guided procedures Battery, charging, starting, sensor, actuator, wiring, network, and module concerns Drivability, intermittent, and complex vehicle issues Digital inspections, repair documentation, service information, and quality control You will have access to strong diagnostic and information resources, including OEM and aftermarket scan tools, AllData, ProDemand, Identifix, Diag Nation, OEM service information when needed, and technical support resources. What We're Looking For We are looking for an experienced technician who can work independently on most repairs and is comfortable using testing and information systems to support good repair decisions.
The right person will bring:
Strong mechanical ability A solid understanding of electrical and diagnostic process Good documentation habits Pride in quality workmanship A willingness to keep learning A team-first mindset The ability to adapt when the day changes A professional attitude with customers, coworkers, and vehicles Ownership over their work without needing to be micromanaged Certifications are appreciated, especially ASE, factory, or manufacturer training, but we do not hire from paper alone. Skills, work ethic, attitude, diagnostic ability, and willingness to grow matter here. Training and Growth ABC Auto Repair invests in people who want to get better. We offer shop-sponsored training, in-person classes, online training, mentoring from leadership, and a path toward ASE certification. Continuing education is part of the pay plan, and technicians are expected to keep growing. The industry is changing, and we want people who are excited to grow with it. The shop regularly uses training opportunities through groups such as NAPA, WorldPAC, NWACA, Identifix University, in-house mentoring, and other industry resources. When the team learns something, we talk about how to use it to improve speed, value for the customer, quality, and the way the shop operates. Pay and Benefits Pay is based on experience, skill level, certifications, and performance. Pay is an hourly base, plus certification bonus, performance bonus, and continued education bonus, we are not a flat rate shop Additional benefits include: Monday-Friday schedule No overtime expectation, when it is 5:00, it is time to go Health benefits with 75% employer-paid coverage Paid sick time as required by law Vacation time after one year Simple IRA Paid major holidays, based on shop performance Tool allowance program Company-provided uniforms with weekly laundry service Heated shop in the winter Lunch room, changing room, and shower Paid continuing education Shop-sponsored training opportunities What It's Like Here ABC Auto Repair moves fast, but it is not chaos. The team communicates, solves problems, and looks for better ways to do the work. When something goes wrong, the focus is not on blame. The focus is on what happened, what can be improved, and how the team moves forward stronger. You will be expected to show up ready to work, take care of the customer's vehicle, communicate clearly, and contribute to the standard the shop is building. This is not a place for someone looking to hide, coast, or avoid hard conversations. It is a place for someone who wants to be trusted, challenged, supported, and respected. The team participates in shop events, customer appreciation events, local car club gatherings, community events, BBQs, team outings, and other activities throughout the year. The goal is to build a place where people do great work, enjoy the people around them, and have room to build a long-term career. Who This Role Is Best For This role is a strong fit for a technician who wants more than a paycheck. It is for someone who wants to keep building their skill set, be part of a serious growth plan, and work in a shop where standards matter. If you are an experienced technician who wants to be part of a shop that is building, improving, and raising the standard, we would like to talk with you. Questions?
