In this role, you will support the service department by assisting with vehicle inspections, repairs, and maintenance while ensuring smooth operations. Your proactive approach will help customers get back on the road safely and efficiently, making a tangible difference every day. Responsibilities Assist service technicians with vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, and suspension work. Support the service department in performing mechanical tasks related to transmissions, shocks & struts, air brakes, alignments, and diesel engine repairs. Help with vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues and ensure proper functioning of all systems. Engage with customers to explain service recommendations, upsell additional services like auto body repairs or auto estimating when appropriate. Manage service writing tasks by accurately documenting vehicle conditions and repair details for work orders. Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards. Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized shop environment, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times. Qualifications Previous dealership or auto service management experience is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on mechanic experience in automotive diagnostics and repairs. Familiarity with a wide range of automotive systems including transmissions, oil changes, tire services, brake repair, suspension, shocks & struts, and diesel engine repair. Experience in automotive repair shops or service departments demonstrating customer service excellence. Ability to perform auto estimating and understand automotive service procedures thoroughly. Excellent communication skills for explaining technical issues clearly to customers and team members. Valid experience with automotive sales processes and service writing is a plus.
