Job Description

Job Overview We are looking for a calm, collected and highly organized service writer to join or automotive repair shop team. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly, listen attentively to their vehicle concerns, and accurately record service requests. Prepare detailed repair orders and estimates using auto service management software, ensuring clarity and transparency. Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, schedule appointments, and communicate updates to customers throughout the service process. Upsell additional services or maintenance based on vehicle diagnostics and customer needs. Explain technical issues in a clear, friendly manner, helping customers understand necessary repairs such as brake repair, oil changes, transmission work, or tire services. Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately while processing payments and completing all necessary documentation. Maintain a thorough understanding of automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and repair procedures across various systems including suspensions, alignments, diesel engines, air brakes, shocks & struts, and auto body repairs. Qualifications Proven dealership experience or prior auto service management background is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures. Experience in auto estimating, upselling services, and handling automotive repair orders. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally. Familiarity with automotive sales processes and vehicle maintenance procedures. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Basic cash handling skills along with proficiency in auto service management software is a plus. Pay:
$45,500.00 - $52,500.00 per year
