Job Description

Valley Express, is growing and has an opening for a full time, experienced Semi Trailer Technicians at our Oshkosh, WI facility. We are a full-service repair shop for our fleet. Currently looking for a tech to work M-F, evening hours. Shift will be approx 1:30 pm to 10 pm Monday through Thursday and 12 pm to 8:30 pm on Fridays. Our continued growth has fueled the need for additional mechanics to help with the increased number of vehicles. Ideal candidates will be willing to work in a team environment and have considerable experience with either engine or trailer repair. Candidates should have a strong work ethic, exceptional attention to detail and strong communication skills. We offer the following

Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair semi-truck and trailer bodies, systems, and components
  • Perform preventative maintenance on trailers
  • Maintain hubs and axels, replacing them when required
  • Inspect, service and replace trailer parts and tires
  • Check and repair brake, electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Test systems and equipment for performance concerns
  • Ensure all trailers meet the DOT road safety requirements
  • Compile inspection reports, document repairs, and report the findings to management
  • Performs other duties as assigned by direct manager
  • Cross training as required Position requirements:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to read and write English
  • Must have proven knowledge of trailer components
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Ability to learn and work with multiple systems
  • Ability to follow work instructions
  • Ability to work with hands
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Must have your own tools
  • CDL is a plus Attendance and reliability are required .
This is a full-time position.
