Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Avionics Technician to join our team on the second shift. This role involves performing maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of complex avionics systems on aircraft, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, along with experience working with schematics, CAD software, and precision measuring instruments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the safety and reliability of aviation operations through meticulous technical work and problem-solving expertise. Duties Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of avionics systems using schematics, wiring diagrams, and CAD drawings. Utilize hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, calipers, micrometers, ohmmeters, ammeters, and coordinate measuring machines to perform precise assembly and repairs. Perform root cause analysis on system failures to identify underlying issues and implement effective corrective actions. Fabricate or modify components using sheet metal fabrication techniques and welding processes in accordance with engineering specifications. Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) while adhering to AS9100 quality standards. Ensure all work complies with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), military standards where applicable, and industry best practices. Assist in the assembly of aircraft or vehicle components, ensuring proper fit and function within airframe structures. Support equipment repair activities related to avionics and electrical systems in accordance with safety protocols. Participate in heavy lifting tasks using appropriate equipment while following safety guidelines. Conduct calibration of precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, ammeters, ohmmeters, and other measurement tools to ensure accuracy. Requirements Proven experience working with avionics systems in aviation or military environments; aircraft or vehicle maintenance experience is highly desirable. Strong electrical experience combined with mechanical knowledge related to airframe assembly and fabrication. Proficiency in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, CAD files (including CATIA and AutoCAD), and technical manuals. Familiarity with industry standards such as AS9100 quality management system requirements. Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) applicable to aircraft maintenance operations. Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively for complex electronic or mechanical issues. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers), and calibration devices. Experience with CMMS software for maintenance tracking is preferred. Ability to lift heavy components safely while maintaining proper ergonomics. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment.
