We are currently seeking experienced Avionics Technicians to support aircraft maintenance, avionics modifications, troubleshooting, system upgrades, and special project assignments across multiple aircraft platforms and customer locations. Responsibilities As an Avionics Technician, you will: Perform installation, inspection, troubleshooting, testing, repair, and modification of aircraft electrical and avionics systems Troubleshoot navigation, communication, flight guidance, autopilot, and aircraft electrical systems Perform fault isolation using approved test equipment and diagnostic procedures Install avionics components, wiring harnesses, antennas, racks, and related electrical systems Perform wire routing, termination, crimping, bonding, and grounding activities in accordance with approved technical data Support avionics upgrades, modifications, STCs, and retrofit programs Conduct operational and post-maintenance testing to verify system functionality Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and technical publications Complete maintenance documentation accurately and in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements Work collaboratively with A&P Technicians, Structures Technicians, Inspectors, Planners, and Customer Representatives Maintain a clean, organized, and FOD-free work environment Minimum Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of avionics maintenance experience Previous experience within an FAA Part 145 Repair Station, airline maintenance environment, military aviation environment, or equivalent aviation operation Strong knowledge of aircraft electrical and avionics systems Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and maintenance manuals Experience using avionics test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, ramp test sets, and diagnostic equipment Knowledge of wire identification, termination standards, bonding, and grounding practices Computer proficiency and experience with electronic maintenance documentation systems Ability to obtain customer-required security clearances and airport access credentials Preferred Qualifications FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate Experience supporting transport-category aircraft, business aviation, or specialized aircraft platforms Experience with avionics modifications, STCs, and aircraft upgrade programs Familiarity with digital avionics suites and integrated flight deck systems Experience supporting heavy maintenance visits and aircraft modification programs Military avionics experience Familiarity with FAA and customer audit requirements Compliance Requirements FAA and DOT Drug & Alcohol Screening Compliance Criminal Background Check Human Factors Training Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Training EWIS Training Tool Control Program Compliance Safety Management System (SMS) Compliance Digital Systems and Software Awareness Schedule & Compensation HeavyAero offers a variety of project assignments and schedules, including: Day and Night Shifts 10- and 12-Hour Shift Opportunities Overtime Opportunities Travel Assignments Throughout the U.S. Per Diem Opportunities (where applicable) Travel Assistance (where applicable) Compensation is competitive and based on experience, aircraft qualifications, certifications, assignment scope, and customer requirements.
