Electrical Engineering Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Engineering Trainee position will perform routine, entry-level engineering tasks under the direct supervision of senior engineers with the goal of developing more advanced applied engineering skills.
Core Responsibilities:
Provides general entry-level support to the engineering department such as creating repair orders and work scope for assigned projects; and assisting the production shop with drawings or process issues, correcting or revising production documentation as needed. Coordinates engineering needs with the production control team, identify potential areas of process improvements; and recommends and assists with the development of appropriate solutions. Verifies and tests assigned metrics on projects, enters test results into quality control database, and ensures compliance with applicable company and client quality requirements in all assigned programs, functions, products, and areas. Assist senior engineers in the development of new methods to improve product quality, process efficacy and efficiency, and identifies and reports problems with specific processes or products to senior engineers. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to comprehend and follow directions. Thorough understanding of engineering principles. Proficient with engineering software tools such as AutoCad and SolidWorks. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software programs. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to maintain high-quality standards in technical work and the willingness to learn new technologies and industry practices.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering. Aviation or aerospace experience strongly preferred. Internship in related field highly desired and experience using engineering databases. Minimum 2 years of related experience.
Physical Requirements:
Required to stand for prolonged lengths of time, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel or crouch. Continually utilize fingers and hands to manipulate equipment controls and make manual adjustments. Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently required to move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally will be required to move over 50 pounds with assistance. Regularly required to utilize close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Regular exposure to noise from machines, equipment, and tools.
