Position
AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTOR
A & P Program Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum A&P Program Summary of Position:
Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum (PHAM) is seeking qualified and dedicated Full-Time, Part-Time and On-Call Aviation Maintenance Instructors at our FAA Part 147-approved campus. You will be making an impact on local students by imparting knowledge with your core competencies in mechanical knowledge, tooling, and Federal Aviation Regulations. You will guide students with inspection techniques, troubleshooting, and repair of aircraft engines, systems, and structures.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides engaging and effective teaching in aircraft maintenance principles that align with and comply with industry standards and FAA regulations. Maintains accurate attendance, grading, and progress records. Onboarding and training responsibilities for new instructors. Ensures all instructional activities are conducted in a safe manner and in compliance with our Operations Manual. Assists in maintaining training aids, tooling, and shop equipment Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Current FAA A&P Certificate 3 or more years of aircraft maintenance experience Strong command of both theoretical and practical aspects of aircraft maintenance, including the ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. High School diploma or GED Effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and a commitment to safety and quality Computer proficiency with experience utilizing Microsoft Suite and Google products. Comfortable using technology for instruction and student tracking Able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening Able to lift 50 pounds, work in and around aircraft in various positions Comfortable with presenting/public speaking
Preferred:
Prior teaching experience in aviation maintenance or related fields Reciprocating and turbine engine aircraft experience Inspection Authorization certification Advanced sheet metal experience Advanced avionics/electrical experience

Range:
$80,000 - $90,000 Annually/Salaried/Exempt for Full-time; contingent upon qualifications, training and experience
Full-time Schedule:
Currently to be in alignment with Hawaii Department of Education School Calendar. (Currently August - end of May) Part-Time and On-Call Schedules as needed and to be determined and agreed to upon hire
Part-Time and On-Call Instructors:
