Full Job Description Description:
Position Summary The Avionics Technician, under the administrative direction of the Avionics Supervisor, trouble shoots and repairs avionics equipment. The Avionics Technician also upgrades and adds equipment in accordance with FAA standards and customer requests and performs other duties in the Maintenance Department, as necessary. Principle Duties and Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair complex integrated avionics systems Replacing components and configuring software to accept them Analyzing compatibility and suitability of electronic devices Servicing existing electronic components Updating aircraft operating software and loading databases Troubleshooting electronic problems remotely with customers Monitoring supplies and materials to avoid shortages Assisting customers with selection of peripherals and monitoring devices Responding to weekend pages within 20 minutes (weekend assignments are scheduled on a rotational basis) Travel to customers aircraft to repair AOG situations
Requirements:
Qualifications Knowledge, Training, and Experience High School education, or equivalent Familiar with and follow the requirements of the Repair Station Manual, Federal Aviation Regulations, Airworthiness Directives, Advisory circulars and manufacturer's service bulletins. Above average grasp of electronic circuitry and ability to read and interpret electronic diagrams and drawings Familiarity with modern pitot static, transponder and computer based testing devices

with radar endorsement preferred Garmin
G1500 / 3000
/ 5000 and /or Honeywell
APEX / EPIC
operating systems preferred Familiarity with Windows and IOS operating systems Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics Effective oral and written communication skills Demonstrated problem solving and analytical abilities Ability to work independently and execute projects with limited supervision Demonstrated attention to detail Good organizational skills and ability to get along with all associates
