About SkyWest Looking for the next step in your Aircraft Maintenance career? As a SkyWest A&P Mechanic, you will be a part of a fast-paced environment full of variety that puts your talent to work on our growing fleet of aircraft. Primary Job Duties Effectively troubleshoot all aircraft systems In a timely manner, will be responsible for making critical decisions regarding aircraft safety Responsible for proficiency in all documentation and paperwork, including parts paperwork In a hangar environment, a technician will be performing avionics inspections, routine maintenance (e.g., FOQA downloads) and troubleshooting systems In shop environment, a technician will be performing testing, troubleshooting and completing repairs on components. May also be required to work on aircraft systems Other duties as assigned A&P Mechanics interested in this Avionics Tech position, with intent to acquire time requirements to test for FCC Radio License, may also apply. Minimum Requirements Have an A&P Certificate Familiar with and be able to read and understand company, manufacturer, and wire diagram manuals to include schematics Possess basic avionics skills Work history of being a self-starter, working well in a team environment, ability to effectively use aircraft manuals to troubleshoot, and repair aircraft avionics and electrical systems Possess a valid, unrestricted state-issued driver's license Have a minimum toolbox Problem solving and organizational skills are required Work nights and holidays Exercise good judgment in working with people in a team environment as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety Physical and Other Requirements Comfortably lift 60 lbs. routinely with or without reasonable accommodation Experience/Training must meet one of the following: Graduated from an accredited avionics school Military training in avionics or electronics Associate degree or higher in electronics Eighteen months experience in the avionics industry A&P certification with previous avionics experience This is a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position Must hold a
FCC GROL
license. If aFCC GROL
license is not held at time of employment it must be obtained within six months from hire date. Complete the online application. Qualified applicants will be contacted.
