Position Responsibilities
technical knowledge to solve complex avionics problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals
Understand the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in circuit analyses, calculating waveforms, and tracing signal flow
Use complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and computer control equipment
Perform aircraft bench and/or flight line operational testing and troubleshooting in accordance with DOD, manufacturer, company, supplier, and other directives
Perform assembly, installation, check-out, operational testing, and modification of wire bundles for aircraft testing, development, and modification
Handle product, tools, and equipment responsibly and prudently
Consult with management and peers to assess best work processes
Assist and train less senior employees
May lead teams through more complex aircraft tasks
Prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects
Perform all duties of lower Avionics classifications as required
Interpret standard work instructions, charts, tables, blueprints, wire diagrams, formulas, sketches, verbal and electronic orders, etc.
Ensure all equipment is used in accordance with established safety and operating procedures
Diagnose and correct malfunctions occurring in assembly processes
Use precision measuring instruments, gauges, and tools to verify dimensions and quality requirements
Maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and permits required for assigned work
Assist other team members (General Mechanics, Structures, Electrics) to ensure cost/schedule targets are met
Physical Requirements
Able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds
Must be familiar with Hazardous Energy and Lock Out/Tag Out systems to ensure a safe working environment
Able to operate a forklift, mobile crane, and riding-type electric powered elevating equipment
Work Schedule
Full Time / Variable Shift
Must be available to work 1st and 2nd shifts based on business needs
Able to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as required to support mission requirements
May include both scheduled and unscheduled overtime
Employment is contingent upon successfully clearing a pre-employment drug screen and background check (both must clear prior to start date)
Must currently possess eligibility to work in the United States (no third parties or sponsorship)
Job Requirements:
Experience with the C-17 or other heavy aircraft platforms
Experience with Aircraft Avionics Systems such as Comm/Nav, Data Links, Weapons, and Radar
4+ years of experience working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures
3+ years of experience with aircraft computer systems and basic office software
Regular and predictable attendance is required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with COMSEC, Radar, or Electronic Systems
Required Education
Accredited High School Diploma or GED
Typically 7 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
