Job Overview Join our dynamic team as an F-16 Engine Technician, where your expertise will keep one of the world's most advanced fighter jets operating at peak performance. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting F-16 jet engines to ensure safety, reliability, and mission readiness. Your hands-on skills and technical knowledge will directly contribute to the success of aviation operations and national defense initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge aerospace technology in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Duties Perform detailed inspections, disassembly, assembly, and overhaul of F-16 jet engines using precise technical procedures. Utilize schematics, CAD drawings, and technical manuals to diagnose engine issues accurately. Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying problems affecting engine performance and implement effective corrective actions. Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to ensure components meet strict specifications. Repair and fabricate engine components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and sheet metal fabrication techniques. Maintain compliance with aviation standards including AS9100 quality management systems and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR). Document all maintenance activities thoroughly in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for traceability and accountability. Support aircraft maintenance teams by providing electrical, avionics, and mechanical expertise during engine repairs or modifications. Adhere to safety protocols related to heavy lifting, equipment repair, soldering, welding, and the use of precision instruments. Assist in calibration and testing of engines using specialized diagnostic equipment such as ammeters and ohmmeters to ensure optimal performance. Skills Strong knowledge of aircraft engine systems with a focus on F-16 jet engines and military aviation standards. Proficiency in reading schematics, technical drawings (CAD), and wiring diagrams related to aircraft engines. Experience with manufacturing processes including fabrication, sheet metal work, welding, soldering, and precision assembly. Familiarity with root cause analysis techniques to troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical issues effectively. Hands-on experience with electrical systems such as avionics wiring and troubleshooting using multimeters or oscilloscopes. Ability to operate coordinate measuring machines (CMM), calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments accurately. Knowledge of federal regulations governing aviation maintenance practices and quality standards like AS9100. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, power lifts, and heavy lifting equipment safely and efficiently. Experience working within maintenance management software (CMMS) for work order tracking and documentation. Mechanical aptitude combined with strong problem-solving skills to identify issues quickly and implement solutions swiftly. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams during complex engine repairs or modifications.
