If you are seeking the next step in your aircraft maintenance career, SkyWest offers an opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-paced environment as an Avionics Technician. In this role, you will apply your skills across our growing fleet of aircraft while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a variety of maintenance activities. New mechanics in Salt Lake City (SLC) qualify for a $10,000 bonus with a commitment to work in that location for at least three years.

Candidates with military A&P experience may also be eligible for a $7,500 bonus with a commitment to remain employed with SkyWest for a minimum of three years. This position provides the opportunity to expand your technical expertise, work alongside a highly skilled team of mechanics, and make a meaningful contribution to the overall success of SkyWest's operation.
Primary Job Duties:
Meet all FAA and safety-related requirements Effectively troubleshoot all aircraft systems Make timely, critical decisions regarding aircraft safety Responsible for proficiency in all documentation and paperwork, including parts paperwork In a hangar environment, a technician will be performing avionics inspections, routine maintenance (e.g., FOQA downloads), and troubleshooting systems Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Hold a valid FAA-issued A&P certificate Additional experience and training in any of the following is preferred: Graduated from an accredited avionics school Military training in avionics or electronics Associate's degree or higher in electronics Eighteen months' experience in the avionics industry Meet all FAA and safety requirements Familiar with, read, and understand company, manufacturer, and wire-diagram manuals, including schematics Possess basic avionics skills Work history demonstrates being a self-starter, working well in a team environment, and effectively using aircraft manuals to troubleshoot and repair aircraft avionics and electrical systems Possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license Have a minimum set of tools (see minimum tool list) Problem-solving and organizational skills are required Work varying shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays Exercise good judgment in working with people in a team environment as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety
Physical and Other Requirements:
Comfortably lift 60 lbs. routinely, with or without reasonable accommodation This is a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position Please complete the online application.
