Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Bike Mechanics to lead our bike service department with enthusiasm and expertise. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of bike maintenance, repair, and assembly, ensuring our customers receive top-tier service and support. As the leader of our bike mechanics team, you will foster a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement, inspiring your team to deliver outstanding results in a fast-paced cycling environment. Your passion for cycling and mechanical mastery will drive operational success and elevate the customer experience. Duties Lead and manage the bike mechanics team, providing guidance, training, and motivation to ensure high-quality repairs and maintenance Oversee daily shop operations, including scheduling, workflow management, and inventory control of tools and parts Perform complex repairs such as suspension servicing, brake repairs, wheel truing, and drivetrain adjustments with precision Ensure all bikes are assembled correctly and safely according to manufacturer specifications Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and proper use of power tools and hand tools Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repair needs clearly and offering expert advice on bike maintenance and upgrades Support retail sales efforts by assisting customers with product recommendations and promoting cycling accessories or services Skills Extensive service technician experience with a focus on bike repairs and maintenance Strong mechanical knowledge of bicycles, including suspension systems, brakes, gears, and wheel truing Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialized cycling equipment for assembly and repairs Experience in vehicle or bike maintenance with an understanding of retail sales processes Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling bikes or parts during repairs or inventory management Excellent customer service skills with a friendly approach to engaging clients Knowledge of retail math for accurate parts pricing and sales transactions Passion for cycling with a keen interest in staying current on industry trends and new technologies Join us as the Head of Bike Mechanics to lead a passionate team dedicated to delivering exceptional cycling experiences.
