Job Summary:

We are seeking energetic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as a Bike Mechanic. This role involves assisting customers with bike, surf, and boat rentals, providing excellent service, and ensuring all equipment is maintained and ready for use. This position requires mechanical aptitude, comfort using hand and power tools, and full responsibility for maintaining all bike rental equipment. A successful candidate will be passionate about outdoor activities, enjoy engaging with people, and have a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet and assist customers in selecting and renting bikes and pedal boats. Provide safety instructions and ensure guests understand how to properly use the equipment. Process rental transactions, including payments and waivers. Maintain cleanliness and organization of rental areas and equipment. Perform routine maintenance, safety checks, and repairs on bikes and boats. Take full responsibility for ensuring all bike rental equipment is in proper working condition and addressing any mechanical issues as they arise. Use hand and power tools to perform adjustments and repairs on bicycles and other rental equipment. Assist in opening and closing duties, including inventory checks and daily reports.

Qualifications:

Prior customer service or sales experience preferred. Passion for outdoor recreation and knowledge of biking is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. Must be mechanically inclined and comfortable using hand and power tools for equipment maintenance. Experience in bicycle repair and maintenance preferred, as this role will be the only bike mechanic on-site. Must be able to lift and move equipment (bikes) as needed. Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Availability to work weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal hours.
