Essential Duties and Responsibilities At Gates, we welcome challenges, celebrate hard work, and continually seek new talent to join our global company. Our Englewood office is looking for a Product Technician within our Global Mobility group. The Product Technician is the designated responsible individual and go to for product inspection and validation tasks. This position will be sole responsible for receiving samples and performing all necessary lab activities in order to move the products through the product development process. This includes working with state of the art measurement devices and systems to obtain the best possible results. Please review below to see if this might be the right opportunity for you.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Inspections Inspect prototypes and production samples with prioritization according to project schedules
Utilize latest technology for accurate measurements - includes hand tools as well as optical measuring systems
Provide Design Engineering team inspection feedback
Organize and store all reports in the deliverables database
Ownership over First Article Inspection (FAI) process and inspection equipment. Validation Tasks Review the design validation process and samples required for testing
Prioritize and request tests in the Sample Manager system
Organize sample labelling and shipping to test facilities
Maintain accurate records of test results, materials, and procedures
Detailed review of tested samples for alignment with reported test results
Some on site testing Lab Responsibilities Perform equipment setup, calibration and routine maintenance
Sample organization and inventory
General assembly of components as needed
Requirements and Preferred Skills Experience 1-3+ years of lab, R D, or prototype environment experience.
Associate degree or higher is preferred
Familiarity with proper lab safety and housekeeping practices.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
Experience with metrology equipment (CMM, gages, laser scanners, etc.) is a plus.
Experience with measurement systems analysis and quality techniques are a plus.
Experience working with and following engineering (inspection and test) procedures.
Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. Skills and Capabilities A preference to hands on work style.
Knowledge of shop tools and inspection techniques.
Familiarity with computer tools like spreadsheets and slide presentations.
Ability to read and understand CAD models and technical drawings.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Technical aptitude for engineering products and equipment.
Flexible to the priorities of the business.
Strong organizational skills.
Solution oriented.
Self-motivated, Self-directed, and driven to complete projects quickly and efficiently.
Ability to work with cross functional teams.
Strong troubleshooting and problem mitigation skills.

Passion for bikes, motorcycles or other two-wheel mobility preferred.

Hourly Rate:
$29.00 - $36.00
Not Bonus Eligible Relocation is not provided

Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued
