We provide accessible, affordable outdoor recreation, education, and community programming year-round. Every dollar earned is reinvested back into the mountain, our people, and the community we serve. The Bike Park Staff position supports the construction, maintenance, operation, and guest experience of The Basin Gravity Park , Bogus Basin's hiking trails, and cross-country mountain bike trail network. This role combines trail work, daily inspections, signage maintenance, on-bike trail presence, guest service, and safety support. Ideal candidates are 18+, comfortable riding downhill and cross-country trails at an intermediate level or above, and prepared for physically demanding outdoor work in a mountain environment. Position Overview The Bike Park Staff role changes seasonally. Work includes brush cutting, raking, resurfacing, drainage and erosion repair, shaping berms, rollers, and jumps, supporting reroutes, and helping build new downhill mountain bike trails. During the summer operating season (mid-June through Labor Day), staff focus on daily grooming, morning trail sweeps, signage checks, guest support, trail condition reporting, and riding trails to monitor operations and maintain a visible staff presence. Build and repair seasons are labor-intensive. Staff should expect long days of manual work, including up to 10-hour shifts with a one-hour lunch break, up to five days per week. Weekend availability is required. Essential Duties Maintain, repair, and improve The Basin Gravity Park, hiking trails, and cross-country mountain bike trails. Perform trail work including brush cutting, raking, resurfacing, erosion repair, drainage work, and feature maintenance. Install, inspect, and maintain trail name, wayfinding, safety, liability, and operational signage. Complete daily morning trail checks and sweeps before opening. Identify, address, and report hazards including washouts, deep sand, exposed fall hazards, poor sightlines, damaged features, missing signage, and unauthorized trail work. Digitally log trail work, inspections, hazards, and repair needs. Ride The Basin Gravity Park and multi-use trails at a safe pace to assess conditions, monitor guest use, and maintain a visible staff presence. Assist guests with directions, trail recommendations, navigation, and general questions. Professionally respond to guests in prohibited areas or using trails in unintended ways. Respond to radio calls and assist patrol during injury responses, trail closures, and other operational needs. Support community race series, bike events, and other trail-based operations as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements Requirements Must be at least 18 years old.
