Job Description
Bicycle Mechanic / Technician Surf City, NC Topsail Surf & Cycle Love bikes, working with your hands, and helping people enjoy the coast? Topsail Surf & Cycle is looking for a dependable, motivated Bicycle Mechanic/Technician to join our team. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in quality work, and thrives in a laid-back but fast-moving shop environment. Whether it's tuning up a beach cruiser, building a new e-bike, or helping a customer get back on the road before sunset, you'll play a key role in the customer experience. Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of bicycles and e-bikes Perform tune-ups, brake adjustments, shifting/drivetrain work, wheel truing, flat repairs, and general service Assemble and prep new bikes for the sales floor and rental fleet Inspect bikes for safety and recommend repair solutions to customers Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient service area Assist customers with basic troubleshooting, bike sizing, and product recommendations Support day-to-day shop operations during busy rental and retail periods Keep repair tickets and work orders organized and up to date Qualifications Previous bike mechanic or hands-on mechanical experience Comfortable using hand tools and working independently Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship Friendly, team-oriented attitude with strong customer service skills Ability to lift and move bikes safely Experience with e-bikes is a plus, but not required Passion for cycling, outdoor recreation, or coastal lifestyle is a bonus Why Work Here?
