We are seeking a skilled and motivated Repair Technician to join our team. We are not your standard bike shop. In this role, your primary responsibility will be the usual diagnosis, repairs, and general maintenance of bicycles with a heavy emphasis on electric bikes. Additionally you will be expected to learn and at least be familiar with the operations of our Reef Coffee shop attached to the showroom. You will also be expected to share the joy of bicycles with every customer that comes thru the door on our world class sales floor. Hurricane Cycles is a family/adventure oriented bike shop so we hire on trust, personality, and social skills before mechanical skills. If you come in with a good attitude and willingness to learn anything required for the job, you will be a good fit. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, a working knowledge of electrical principals, hands-on experience with tools and equipment and also a strong friendly personality. Bring your selling skills and let's succeed together. Duties Diagnose mechanical issues in vehicles and equipment to determine necessary repairs. Perform suspension repairs, brake repairs, and general vehicle maintenance. Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete repair tasks. Diagnose and repair electric bikes of every brand. Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns. Assist in retail sales by recommending products and services based on customer needs. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols. Engage in heavy lifting as required during the repair process. Qualifications Previous experience as a service technician or mechanic is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience Familiarity with suspension systems, brake repair, and assembly processes. Proficient in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage in retail sales. Basic understanding of retail math to assist customers accurately. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary.
