Job Description

We are seeking a reliable, independent, and customer-focused Bottle Redemption & Equipment Supervisor to oversee our automated beverage container return operations. In this role, you will be the sole operator of our climate-controlled redemption center, managing advanced reverse vending machines (RVMs), assisting customers, and maintaining accurate inventory counts for twice-weekly vendor pickups. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated individual who enjoys a mix of customer interaction, light technical troubleshooting, and hands-on physical work without the stress of managing a cash drawer.
Key Responsibilities Equipment Oversight & Troubleshooting:
Monitor and maintain automated redemption equipment, including bulk-feed RVMs for plastic/cans and single-feed RVMs for glass. Clear routine jams, clean sensors, and perform basic troubleshooting. Act as the primary on-site contact to relay mechanical issues to technical support over the phone.
Customer Service & Point of Sale:
Greet and assist customers using the machines. For bulk drop-offs or non-machine acceptable containers, perform manual hand counts and accurate sorting. Operate a Point of Sale (POS) machine to generate redemption slips for customers (no cash handling required).
Inventory & Logistics:
Use a pallet jack to safely move material bins and containers. Manually lift and swap bins, including containers of crushed glass. Maintain precise, organized daily volume logs and prepare accurate shipping counts for vendor pickups twice a week.
Community Coordination:
Serve as the point of contact for local charity groups to coordinate and process bottle drive donations.
Facility Maintenance:
Keep the climate-controlled redemption area clean, organized, safe, and welcoming for customers.
Qualifications & Requirements Independence:
Ability to work efficiently and responsibly as a solo operator without direct day-to-day supervision.
Problem-Solving Skills:
Comfortable using basic mechanical aptitude to clear equipment jams and follow step-by-step phone instructions from technical support teams.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive manual sorting, and lift heavy bins (including crushed glass) into shipping containers. Ability to safely operate a manual pallet jack.
Basic Tech Literacy:
Comfortable operating a digital POS system to log counts and print customer vouchers.
Strong Communication:
Friendly and helpful demeanor with customers, clear communication skills for tech-support phone calls, and organized habits for record-keeping.
Schedule & Benefits Consistent Hours:
40 hours per week, Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:00
PM Comfortable Work Environment:
Fully climate-controlled indoor workspace.
Competitive Pay:
Earn up to $880 to $1000 a week plus bonus!
Pay:
$880.00 - $1,000.00 per week
Benefits:
Employee discount Paid time off
Work Location:
In person
