Job Description
Job Summary Please note, we are located in McCarthy, AK. We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Technician with a variety of skills, from; electrical, plumbing and joinery. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation, safety, and reliability of our facilities and equipment. You will be familiar with assessing the needs of a property, placing orders and ensuring appliances, parts and equipment arrive on time and are available in line with the daily running of the business and larger projects such as installation, bathrooms and construction. Your expertise will help maintain a seamless environment by performing repairs, troubleshooting issues, and conducting preventive maintenance across a variety of systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical knowledge and technical skills in a fast-paced setting, contributing directly to the efficiency and safety of our operations. Duties Project work to deadlines; installation of units and fittings, electrical & plumbing. Troubleshoot and repair appliances, HVAC/R systems, refrigeration units, ovens, and other mechanical equipment using schematics and technical manuals. Installation of units and fittings Read and interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and service manuals to diagnose issues accurately. Lead small maintenance projects or assist construction teams with installation or upgrades of building systems. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used for accountability and future reference. Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to minimize downtime and ensure safety standards are met. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in appliance repair, HVAC/R systems, refrigeration, and general equipment maintenance. Plumbing, electrical, carpentry Proven service technician experience with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues efficiently. Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and service manuals accurately. Knowledge of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, ventilation systems, and refrigerants. Leadership qualities with the ability to guide team members or coordinate with contractors during maintenance activities. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance challenges. This role would be good for someone looking for a short term contract completing certain installation and repair projects or longer term seasonal employment on an adhoc basis. Please note, if you wish to stay long term we will endeavor to find you additional work outside of maintenance throughout the business such as within our shuttle driving team, housekeeping or various other positions.
