This role includes performing routine and corrective maintenance on the physical plant, coordinating with vendors and contractors, conducting required safety inspections, and ensuring the facility meets ADMH, Joint Commission, and life safety standards at all times. The maintenance technician will work closely with the COO and Housing Director to address facility needs promptly and maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for residents in treatment. Population served are clients, ages 18+, who are currently receiving residential treatment for mental health including but not limited to mood instability, trauma, depression, anxiety, psychosis, and self-harm. Candidates would thrive in this position if they take pride in their work, can problem-solve independently, and understand that a well-maintained facility is a meaningful part of client safety and recovery. Experience in residential, healthcare, or commercial facility maintenance is encouraged, and reliability, a strong work ethic, and a respectful, client-sensitive demeanor are a requirement.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required Minimum 2 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related trade General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, landscaping, and mechanical systems Ability to perform minor repairs independently and identify when licensed contractors are needed Familiarity with fire safety equipment inspection and life safety compliance preferred Ability to read and follow work orders, inspection checklists, and maintenance logs Comfortable working in an occupied residential facility with behavioral health clients present Reliable, punctual, and able to respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies as needed Respectful, professional demeanor appropriate to a behavioral health setting Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening Valid driver's license preferred
