Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and upkeep of our facilities and manufacturing equipment. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, efficient, and productive environment by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting complex systems, and executing repairs with precision. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment, facilities, and infrastructure to minimize downtime. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters. Repair or replace faulty components including motors, belts, valves, switches, and wiring to ensure equipment operates smoothly. Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to troubleshoot automation systems and implement control modifications when necessary. Conduct welding repairs on metal structures or machinery components to restore integrity and safety. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking work orders and asset history. Support facilities maintenance tasks such as residential painting or general building upkeep to ensure a clean and safe environment. Supervise or assist junior technicians in completing maintenance tasks efficiently while promoting safety standards. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to minimize disruptions during scheduled maintenance or repairs while providing excellent customer service internally. Requirements Proven experience in facilities maintenance or manufacturing environments with a focus on mechanical and electrical systems. Strong knowledge of schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals related to industrial equipment. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical troubleshooting, welding techniques, and the use of diagnostic tools like ohmmeters. Mechanical knowledge applicable to machinery repair, installation, and preventive maintenance strategies. Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical diagrams for troubleshooting purposes. Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and team collaboration. Supervising experience is preferred to lead or mentor other technicians effectively. Familiarity with CMMS software for work order management is highly desirable. Demonstrated leadership qualities with a proactive approach to safety protocols and problem resolution. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy objects, working at heights, or in confined spaces as required.
