Basic Job Functions:
The role of a Melt Shop Maintenance Mechanic includes the ability to troubleshoot and repair water systems, hydraulic systems, alloy systems, DRI system and mechanical components plus participate and lead in all preventive and predictive maintenance programs. A successful candidate in this role will demonstrate the core values of the Nucor Big , 11 success factors while focusing on safety, equipment reliability, cost control, and continuous improvement. This position requires work on rotating shifts as well as overtime, both scheduled and unscheduled. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent One year of Melt Shop Mechanical Maintenance experience
Preferred Qualifications:
