Facilities Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a competent Facilities Maintenance Technician to ensure the smooth running and upkeep of the plant. This person must be reliable and have technical skills and knowledge of various crafts such as carpentry, plumbing, and electrical. Responsibilities Inspect facilities to determine problems and perform any necessary maintenance; Prepare daily/weekly/monthly/yearly maintenance schedules; Obtain quotes, hire and supervise contractors (if needed) for installations, repairs or maintenance; Inspect and maintain building systems (heating, ventilation etc.); Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance; Monitor inventory of materials and equipment; Lead the coordination of projects such as renovations; Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations. This technician will assist the shop production floor when there are no maintenance tasks to complete. Skills At least 3 years' experience as a maintenance technician, supervisor, or manager; Strong technical knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, heating etc.); Understanding of budgeting and performance management; Excellent planning, communication, and interpersonal skills; Must be able to work proficiently on a computer and use Microsoft Office; Professional Certifications (e.g. CMRP or HVAC certified) are preferred.
