Manufacturing Maintenance Technician

We forge the world's best rail axles right here in Paragould, Arkansas We are seeking Maintenance team members to serve our night shift operations. 3-6 months of training on day shift before transitioning to night shift. We recently celebrated 10 years worked with no Lost Time Injuries and 2 Recordable Injuries in 4 years. These are night shift positions working a 4/3 work schedule. Training would be on day shift for approximately 3- 6 months. This position offers the opportunity to be in a fast-paced, technology-rich manufacturing setting. Basic Function Perform various types of general maintenance work including diagnostic and repair work on automated equipment; preventive maintenance tasks; plumbing and piping; metal fabrication; installation, relocation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment; maintenance of electrical equipment; welding and gas torch cutting Specific Duties Ensures operation of machinery and equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting manuals. Performs emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electric and hydraulic; identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner. Monitors, identifies and responds promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery such as changes in performance, temperature fluctuations, sounds, smells or atypical energy usage; perform troubleshooting for production machinery. Uses a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions. Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks. Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Read and comply with work orders concerning service, modification, or installation of machinery.
