Job Description
Facilities Technician - In‑House Data Center (Quant Trading Firm)
You'll be part of a small internal team supporting an owner‑operated data center environment where attention to detail, reliability, and accountability matter.
What You'll DoFacility, Janitorial & Custodial SupportPerform daily cleaning of offices, hallways, lobbies, conference rooms, and controlled entry areasClean, sanitize, and restock restrooms and kitchensVacuum, mop, sweep, scrub, and periodically deep‑clean floors, carpets, and high‑touch surfacesMaintain janitorial equipment, closets, and supplies in clean, working order Building & Site SupportPerform routine inspections of interior and exterior areasHandle basic maintenance tasks (lighting, painting, drywall, door hardware, minor plumbing issues)Assist with office setups, furniture moves, and workspace reconfigurationsSupport groundskeeping and exterior upkeep (walkways, parking areas, seasonal cleanup) Shipping, Receiving & InventoryReceive and log deliveries, verify contents, and manage outgoing shipmentsMaintain organized storage and accurate on‑site inventory records Critical Infrastructure SupportAssist HVAC technicians, electricians, and vendors during maintenance or installation activitiesProvide general hands‑on support (moving equipment, staging materials, escorting vendors)Opportunity to learn and grow into data center-adjacent work over time Safety & AdministrationLog completed work, inspections, and vendor visitsFollow access‑control, safety, and chemical handling proceduresIdentify and report safety or security concerns promptlyWhat We're Looking ForHigh school diploma or equivalent2+ years of experience in facilities, custodial, building maintenance, or a similar hands‑on role Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical (non‑critical), carpentry, and paintingComfortable using hand and power tools and janitorial equipmentAbility to work independently, prioritize tasks, and follow structured proceduresComfortable working in a secure environment with strict access policiesValid driver's licenseOSHA 10/30 and prior data center, hospital, or mission‑critical facility experience are a plus Why This RoleOwner‑operated data center (not a third‑party or cleaning contractor model)Stable environment supporting a consistently profitable trading businessClear responsibilities and predictable work scopeExposure to a high‑performance technology environmentOpportunity for long‑term growth within facilities and operationsCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive payMedical, dental, and vision insurance (coverage effective Day 1; employer‑paid options available)401(k) with employer match, immediate vestingPaid time off, holidays, parental and bereavement leaveCompany‑paid life insuranceStocked kitchen, team events, company swag, and on‑site perks
