Georgia-Pacific is seeking qualified candidates to join our team as a Multi-craft Maintenance Technician in Fort Smith, AR. Th Multi-craft Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and troubleshooting all production equipment and systems, performing a variety of maintenance duties, ensuring maximum facility uptime to meet production goals while a safe operation.
This position starts at $37.32
Hours of work will be based on current shift operations. At this time a continuous operation consisting of 4 shifts is in place (A, B, C, and D), however, the posted position's regular work schedule is 1st shift Monday through Friday, subject to overtime.

What You Will Do
Safely and efficiently perform corrective, preventive, and predictive work on manufacturing equipment, including entry to complex level troubleshooting and repair techniques on manufacturing equipment consisting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Some realigning and adjusting of various mechanical components, as well as some installation and repair of electrical/mechanical systems
Preform a variety of mechanical and electromechanical tests on electrical/mechanical systems, subassemblies and parts to ensure unit functions according to specs or to determine cause of failure
Safely and efficiently utilize predictive maintenance tools including IR Thermography, Oil Analysis, and Ultrasonic Testing
Maintain their qualifications current on equipment in their specific department(s) and the operation
Troubleshoot/repair equipment and perform tasks necessary to meet safety, quality and reliability expectations, both short and long-term
Facilitate on shift problem solving, resolution and Asset Maintenance Work Process
Proactively share knowledge with others
Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or in a loud/noisy, and industrial, high-volume environment
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
2-year technical degree or higher (as approved by Georgia Pacific) in Electrical Maintenance field
Minimum 5 years of documented Industrial Maintenance experience or equivalent Military experience
Must be able read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
Experience using precision measuring instruments and to operate basic machine tools and perform minor welding
Ability to perform basic alignment functions and to install bearings, chains, sprockets and power transmission systems
Working knowledge and experience with PLC logic, variable frequency drives (VFDs) and servo drives and 3 phase power
What Will Put You Ahead
Previously documented experience in use of welding, machine tools, pneumatics, and hydraulics
Knowledge and experience in RSLogic
