- Master Electrical is a senior-level technical role responsible for advanced electrical troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of plant equipment and systems.
This position serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in industrial electrical systems, supporting production reliability, safety compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. The technician performs complex diagnostics, leads electrical maintenance activities, and provides guidance to junior technicians while ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to company standards.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Electrical Systems & Troubleshooting Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems including motors, drives (VFDs), PLCs, sensors, relays, and control panels.
Maintenance Execution Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment. Lead response to equipment breakdowns and ensure rapid restoration of operations. Install, maintain, and upgrade electrical infrastructure including wiring, conduit, panels, and automation systems. Advanced Technical Support Serve as the site expert for electrical troubleshooting and controls systems. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Maintenance Technicians I & II. Support PLC troubleshooting and automation improvements (Allen-Bradley, Siemens preferred). Safety & Compliance Enforce compliance with OSHA standards, electrical safety, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and arc flash requirements. Promote a strong safety culture and ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices. Continuous Improvement Perform root cause analysis and implement solutions to prevent recurring failures. Identify opportunities for process improvements, equipment upgrades, and reliability enhancements. Support lean manufacturing and preventive maintenance initiatives. Documentation & Communication Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status in CMMS. Communicate effectively with production, engineering, and maintenance leadership teams. Diagnose failures in electrical, electronic, and electromechanical systems and implement permanent corrective actions. Work with 480V 3-phase systems, power distribution, and industrial control circuits. Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and technical manuals. Qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities): High school diploma or GED required. Qualifications
- Preferred Journeyman or Master Electrician license strongly preferred.
Technical certification in Electrical Technology, Industrial Electricity, or related field. Experience with CMMS systems. Experience in PLC programming or advanced troubleshooting. Multi-craft experience (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems).
