Douglas Primary Function:
Under the direction of the Pastor or parish office manager is responsible for working independently in a leadership role and performing a variety of complex maintenance duties in a parish or school. The Employee shall be a minister of the Gospel and Catholic Teaching both behaviorally while at work and in his/her personal life, "…Live in a manner worthy of the call you have received." (Eph. 4:1) Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform in support the Church's spiritual and pastoral mission Shall abide by Catholic principles in the employee's professional and private life and shall govern his/her professional and private life in strict accordance with Catholic morals and principles to demonstrate complete adherence to Catholic moral strictures. Work independently in a leadership role in the performance of general facility and grounds maintenance including cleaning and maintenance of Church and other grounds facilities Provide training and on-going supervision of maintenance and custodial personnel as assigned. Maintain parish equipment including cafeteria, kitchen, restrooms, and other facilities in a functional condition; recommend and oversee replacement of equipment as necessary Maintain a supply of and account for cleaning supplies and equipment; maintain an adequate inventory at all times Comply with chemical handling laws and occupational safety regulations as required; maintain a safe working environment Maintain security of buildings, equipment, tools, and other assets of the parish Make recommendations for continuous improvements in all areas assigned Perform other duties as assigned Physical /
Mental Requirements :
Requires coordination and manual dexterity, normal mental and visual ability; ability to lift as required in a normal maintenance environment.
Required Activities:
Walking, sitting, standing, stooping, reaching, talking, handling, hearing, carrying, lifting and climbing
