Building Maintenance Technician

Job Summary Performance Staffing is seeking a dedicated Building Maintenance Technician. This role involves performing a wide range of repair, renovation, and painting tasks across residential and commercial properties. This position does require a background check and drug test. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in construction painting, drywall repair, carpentry, and general maintenance to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our facilities. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing a variety of hand tools and power equipment, while contributing to the upkeep and improvement of our properties.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC components Perform interior and exterior painting using techniques such as residential, commercial, industrial, and construction painting Prepare surfaces through plastering, caulking, sanding, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion Read blueprints and schematics to accurately execute renovation or remodeling projects Install fixtures, trim carpentry elements, and perform masonry or stucco work as needed Operate hand tools and power tools safely for tasks such as framing, concrete finishing, welding, or fixture installation Assist with construction estimating for projects requiring materials procurement or labor planning Execute restoration projects by repairing or replacing damaged structures with precision Apply airless paint spraying techniques for large-scale or industrial painting jobs Maintain detailed records of work performed and communicate effectively with team members to coordinate project timelines

Qualifications:

Proven experience in construction site work, renovation projects, or general maintenance roles Skilled in construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math calculations Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and airless paint sprayers Knowledge of various painting techniques including residential, commercial, industrial, and construction painting Familiarity with plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, masonry, stucco application, and fixture installation Strong understanding of safety protocols related to construction sites and maintenance activities Ability to perform physical tasks requiring strength and dexterity in diverse environments Prior handyman experience is highly desirable; certification in relevant trades is a plus If you are a motivated professional with a broad skill set in building maintenance and painting disciplines seeking a dynamic role within a supportive team environment, we encourage you to apply.
