Job Description

Job Overview Join our team, a new position at Shasta Pools is now available! The Equipment Sales Associate is responsible for selling pool, spa and backyard products by successfully meeting customer needs while obtaining orders from existing or potential sales outlets. This role is primarily responsible for streamlining and maintaining standards through all e-commerce sales activities. We are looking for a dynamic and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our sales team. In this role, you will be the frontline representative responsible for delivering exceptional service to our customers, assisting with product selection, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. The eCommerce Sales Associate provides recommendations to customers based on their individual needs as well as relay important company and industry information to drive sales. Your expertise in sales techniques, product knowledge, and communication skills will drive customer satisfaction and overall sales. You also ensure that customers receive efficient and expedient service while recognizing opportunities for additional sales. When customers are ready to finalize a purchase, the sales representative performs all front counter and online transaction purchasing procedures according to our guidelines. This position must navigate across multiple resources and tools to provide accurate and current information for industry trends. Must be technology friendly with experience using Microsoft Outlook and eCommerce platforms such as . The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and possesses a strong background in retail sales, ecommerce sales and customer service. Duties Greet and assist customers in person, by phone, and via email with a friendly, professional attitude. Enter customer orders at the sales counter using company computer systems. Create and process Sales Orders and Quotes , including estimating project costs and material quantities based on customer measurements.
Clearly communicate:
  • Appropriate products for customer inquiries
  • How materials/product are priced, sold, and fulfilled.
Provide accurate product information and recommend solutions based on customer needs. Respond to customer inquiries promptly, professionally and resolve customer concerns, escalating issues when appropriate to management. Enter and manage orders across eCommerce platforms and point-of-sale systems (Shopify and Aactivate). Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending additional items to enhance their purchase. Manage inventory levels through record keeping/documentation and inventory checks to ensure product availability. Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or taking orders remotely. Generate new sales leads through outbound calling to local trade and service businesses. Perform basic math calculations for transactions, discounts, or pricing adjustments efficiently. Support sales growth through proactive customer engagement and follow-up via phone and email communication. Maintain compliance with company policies on safety procedures, and customer privacy. Load and unload inventory into company truck for transport as needed. Inform management of product demand and special-order material needs promptly. Operate a company provided truck as part of job duties and maintain a clean driving record and comply with company vehicle policies. Maintain clear, professional communication with managers, coworkers, and customers. Maintain and assist in keeping a clean and organized work environment. Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure smooth daily operations and customer satisfaction. Demonstrate honesty, courtesy, and respect at all times. Other job duties as assigned by manager. Qualifications Prior experience in retail sales or customer service within a retail or similar environment
  • Required 3+ years of direct or indirect sales experience
  • Required Experience with eCommerce platforms; Shopify and Activate experience

  • Sales and customer service experience in pool supply distribution
  • preferred Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in multiple languages (bilingual abilities are a plus). Demonstrated supervising experience or successful independent work capabilities

Strong data entry and computer skills. Ability to perform retail transactions and inventory control. Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to build rapport with diverse customers. Ability to learn product knowledge and internal systems. Valid driver's license, pass and maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Report. Physical Requirements Duties require sitting at a desk (to perform administrative duties, use a computer, phone, etc.). Also standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting 60 lbs., and reaching (to retrieve files, make copies, send faxes, etc.). Moving items from shipping to receiving that were purchased by customer, up to front counter, up to 60lbs. Compensation Base hourly pay (starting at $21.00/hr)+ monthly sales commission.
