Job Description
RoleUnder close supervision, performs skilled installation of new traffic control devices and the inspection and maintenance of existing traffic control devices in County rights-of-way. Major Duties, ResponsibilitiesObserves, reports, and repairs damaged traffic control devices, obstructions to sign view, and other potential safety hazards in an accurate timely manner.
Removes and/or replaces traffic control devices that are outdated or missing. Verifies reports of damaged or missing traffic control devices, making emergency repair calls after regular working hours. Maintains traffic control device inventory and equipment service records. Keeps records of traffic control device types and locations. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
AZ 811 Blue Stake, Vias, labor and inventory tracking applications.
Business English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and composition.
Current Microsoft Office software.
Skill in:
Observing, reporting, and repairing damaged traffic control devices, obstructions to traffic control device view, and other potential safety hazards in an accurate timely manner.
Maintaining traffic control device inventory and equipment service records as required.
Keeping timely, accurate records of traffic control device types and locations.
Communicating effectively electronically and orally.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.
Organization, cleanliness and adherence to detail.
Ability to:
Install and maintain Traffic Control Devices according to the
Complete assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner with attention to detail.
Make emergency repair calls after regular working hours when deemed necessary.
Attend and pass any scheduled traffic control training classes, coordinated by the County that directly relates to the position.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, employees of other departments, representatives of other organizations, County officials, and the public.
Keep management informed of key operating issues affecting the department.
Remain current in knowledge required to perform assigned duties.
Handle confidential matters and maintain discretion always.
Act with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.

Minimum QualificationsEducation:
High school diploma or equivalent.Experience:
A minimum of one (1) year of experience in field service with use of hand and power tools.Additional Requirements:
Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license. Obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate by date of hire. Obtain the following provided trainings/certifications within 1 year of employment: ATSSA Flagger CertificationATSSA Traffic Control Technician CertificationIMSA Signs & Markings I Certification or equivalentOSHA 10Certification OSHA Forklift CertificationOther SkillsRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Work Environment:
The work environment is associated with a workshop and field environment year-round in all weather conditions and includes exposure to loud noise, machinery, dust, fumes, mist, and chemicals.Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Sufficient vision to read printed materials, a computer screen and mobile device; hearing and speech ability to communicate effectively in-person and by phone. Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists. Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, walk over rough, uneven, and/or rocky surfaces, and lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance.Additional Job Information:
