MHIRJ is hiring a Facilities Technician to play a critical role in supporting our operations at one of the industry's most important aviation hubs. Our facilities are foundational to our success. As a Facilities Technician, you will directly support the safety, compliance, and reliability of our buildings, industrial equipment, and workspaces. You'll work across service centers, offices, and parts depots, maintaining everything from HVAC and electrical systems to ground support equipment and building infrastructure. What you'll do: This role requires broad, practical maintenance experience and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
Daily responsibilities include:
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues on industrial and manufacturing equipment (e.g., scissor lifts, forklifts, pushback tugs, hand trucks, carts) Performing hands‑on repairs using power tools, precision measuring instruments, and electrical testing devices Making adjustments and minor repairs to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and ventilation systems Inspecting equipment, structures, and systems to identify root causes of failures or defects Assembling, installing, and repairing wiring, piping, plumbing, machinery, and general building systems Performing carpentry, drywall, painting, and structural repairs as needed Fabricating or repairing counters, benches, partitions, sheds, and other wooden structures Coordinating with vendors, suppliers, and inspectors to ensure work is completed safely and to standard Ordering parts and supplies, tracking costs, and documenting all maintenance and repairs Completing work orders and administrative documentation through a ticketing system Supporting landscaping and seasonal needs (including snow removal when required) Performing other duties as assigned in support of site operations Minimum requirements — Essential for success: These qualifications are critical to performing the job safely and effectively. High School Diploma or GED , plus demonstrated hands‑on experience in: Mechanical systems (servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing mechanical equipment) Electrical systems (servicing, repairing, calibrating, and testing electrical or electronic equipment) General plumbing principles 1-3 years of facilities maintenance experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment Working knowledge of: Plumbing, HVAC, Industrial EVAP coolers Basic electrical systems General carpentry and painting Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams Ability to read and write English (accommodations may be available) Preferred Qualifications - Strongly valued: 5+ years of facilities experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial setting Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing codes and safety procedures HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or related trade licenses or certifications Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) certification Experience supporting basic project coordination and vendor communication
