Job Description

The Maintenance Technician, under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible to efficiently perform all general apartment and facilities maintenance. Responsibilities Responsible for timely completion of all phases of apartment make ready work, trouble shooting and repair of most major and all minor mechanical systems. Responsible for unsupervised, timely completion of occupied apartment service requests in accordance with predefined company and property standards. Must be able to perform administrative duties for maintenance related activities. Prepare timely and accurate maintenance journals and summary documentation. Responsible for all aspects of maintenance of property, including resident satisfaction and contribution to property occupancy goals. Responsible for completion of all work tasks in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with company safety standards, and for the relay of information regarding the property or operation that might constitute a physical or liability hazard. When called upon. perform groundskeeper responsibilities. Schedule outside vendors when required. Requirements High School diploma or general education degree Must be proficient in most areas of apartment maintenance; plumbing, drywall, painting, carpentry, locks, appliances and life safety equipment. Must be able to function effectively in a customer service environment. Ability to comprehend instructions, read and write short correspondence and memos. Must be available for on call services. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to site, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are a representative of those and employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and outside weather conditions.
