Maintenance Technician - Safety Equipment

General Summary:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of semi-skilled maintenance, modification and repair activities in assigned maintenance operations areas; and performs related work as required.

Details of Job Duties:

Perform all duties in a safe manner; Assemble and install new equipment and machines; Able to make modifications to existing equipment as required to, reduce downtime and maximize effectiveness; Perform preventative maintenance procedures on all facility equipment (i.e. forklifts, etc.); Perform minor electrical duties such as; rewiring motors, extension cords, fans, explosion proof plugs, etc. Perform preventative maintenance procedures on all ASSI rental equipment (i.e. air trailers, eyewash trailers, cooling stations, generators, fans, etc.); Rebuild equipment and ensure it is in proper working order prior to rental to customer; Able to work under pressure to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and improve equipment in a high paced production environment; Provide technical support to problem solving activities; Maintain safety and cleanliness standards of equipment and work area; Maintains logs and records of work performed and materials and equipment used; Inventories and requests equipment and supplies; Responds to call-outs and emergencies as directed by ASSI's Maintenance Manager; On-call schedule (hours ranging from 8-16/day; weekends included) Accomplish work tasks without other employees; Tool usage; Responsible for Company Truck, Tools, Phone and other assigned equipment; Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; Accomplishes shop operations mission by completing related tasks as needed; Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse/Maintenance Manager; and Aids other departments when work load allows.
