Role:
The Maintenance Technician - Acquisitions plays a critical role in ensuring that newly acquired facilities and equipment are inspected, maintained, and brought up to operational standards efficiently and safely. This position focuses on the evaluation and repair of assets during the acquisition phase, facilitating a smooth transition into the company's operational portfolio. The technician will collaborate closely with acquisition teams, project managers, and vendors to identify maintenance needs and implement corrective actions. By proactively addressing mechanical, electrical, and structural issues, the role supports long-term asset reliability and compliance with safety regulations. Ultimately, this position ensures that all acquired properties and equipment meet company standards and are fully functional to support ongoing business operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical fields is required. Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance or facilities management, preferably involving equipment or property acquisitions. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to acquisition sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree or certification in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, or a related field. Experience working in acquisition or asset integration roles within manufacturing, real estate, or industrial sectors. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Certification in OSHA safety standards or other relevant safety training. Basic welding or fabrication skills.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of newly acquired facilities and equipment to identify maintenance and repair needs. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on mechanical, electrical, and structural systems during the acquisition process. Collaborate with acquisition teams to develop maintenance plans and timelines that align with project goals and operational requirements. Document all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts replacements, ensuring accurate records for compliance and future reference. Coordinate with external vendors and contractors when specialized repairs or services are required. Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Assist in the integration of new assets into existing maintenance management systems and workflows. Provide technical support and recommendations to acquisition and operations teams regarding asset condition and lifecycle management.
