Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and preventive upkeep for hotel guest rooms, restaurant facilities, tennis club, all public areas, and back-of-house operations to ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment. This role supports daily operations by promptly addressing maintenance issues and helping preserve Mission Ranch's property standards and guest experience. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, restaurant spaces, public areas, and back-of-house facilities, including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting tasks Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders to minimize guest disruption and operational downtime Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections to identify and address potential issues before they escalate Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate with external vendors when specialized repairs are required Maintain restaurant equipment, kitchen fixtures, and dining areas to ensure safe and efficient operation Assist with hotel room turns by repairing or replacing fixtures, furniture, lighting, appliances, and hardware as needed Report safety hazards, code concerns, or structural issues immediately to management Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance storage areas in a clean, organized, and secure manner Follow proper procedures for handling tools, chemicals, and materials in compliance with safety and Cal/OSHA guidelines Support team operations by assisting with setup, breakdown, or facility needs during peak periods or special events in the Events department Comply with all Mission Ranch policies, including safety, security, and property maintenance standards Must be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call needs as business demands require Other duties as assigned Requirements Working knowledge of general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems Ability to read work orders, follow instructions, and prioritize tasks effectively Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams Good communication skills Education and Experience Minimum 2 years of maintenance, facilities, or related trade experience, preferably in a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality setting High school diploma or equivalent required Technical certifications, vocational training, or trade school coursework preferred Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment safely Ability to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday Work Environment Work is performed indoors and outdoors across hotel rooms, restaurant spaces, tennis club, public areas, and maintenance facilities Exposure to tools, equipment, noise, weather conditions, and maintenance-related materials Required to follow all Cal/OSHA safety standards and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as provided Mission Ranch provides reasonable accommodation to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
