Job Description

Step Into a Day on Our Team At Vortex Doors, we keep businesses moving by ensuring their commercial and industrial doors operate safely and reliably.
Picture your morning:
you review your work orders, load your truck with key parts, and head to a client site. By mid-morning you're diagnosing a stubborn operator or a broken spring; later you're installing new hardware and verifying everything meets code. Throughout the day, you communicate clearly with customers, document your work, and complete quality checks before you roll to the next job. What You'll Tackle Install and repair a wide range of commercial and industrial door systems using the right tools and methods. Perform routine and complex repairs on springs, hinges, locks, operators, and electrical components. Fit and configure hardware—locks, levers, closers, and access control—to function smoothly and securely. Verify compliance with safety and building codes on every installation and service call.
Deliver professional customer support:
explain issues, outline the repair process, and offer cost‑effective options. Capture thorough records of visits, work performed, parts used, and final results. Troubleshoot efficiently and resolve technical problems with speed and accuracy. Conduct final quality checks to confirm work meets Vortex standards. When You'll Work Full-time shifts are available between Vortex business hours of 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday with potential overtime and on-call hours. What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years' experience in the commercial door service industry is a plus. Familiarity with door types, brands, and related hardware is a plus. Comfort using hand and power tools safely and effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and a knack for troubleshooting. Ability to perform math with fractions and read a tape measure accurately for precise installs. Clear, professional communication and excellent customer service. Detail orientation and pride in top-quality workmanship. Knowledge of safety regulations with strict adherence to safe work practices. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Comfort repeatedly lifting and bending, climbing ladders up to 20', working on your knees for extended periods, and operating power tools proficiently.
