Job Description

Job Title:
Renovation Technician - Huntington Beach Job Description Join a first-shift renovation team that refurbishes vacant apartments in Huntington Beach. You will work in a crew of two to complete a variety of light construction, repair, and finish tasks, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall repair, and painting, using standard hand and power tools in a residential setting. Responsibilities Renovate and refurbish vacant apartments in a residential community as part of a two-person team. Perform basic plumbing tasks such as changing faucets, shower heads, and other simple fixtures. Complete basic electrical work, including installing ceiling fans and similar residential fixtures. Carry out basic carpentry tasks such as installing baseboards, door casings, and other trim elements. Patch and repair drywall, including filling holes and, when needed, replacing sections of drywall. Prepare and paint surfaces to achieve a clean, finished appearance in renovated units. Use hand and power tools safely and effectively, including sawzalls, cordless drills or impacts, finish nail guns, and grinders. Measure, cut, and install materials accurately, ensuring proper fit and finish for framing and trim work. Assist with light residential construction tasks as needed to complete apartment turnover projects. Follow work orders, project instructions, and safety guidelines to complete tasks on schedule. Maintain a clean and organized work area within each apartment and properly store tools and materials at the end of the day. Collaborate closely with your teammate, communicate progress, and support one another to complete daily renovation goals. Demonstrate a willingness to learn new tasks and techniques and take direction to improve skills over time. Essential Skills Proficiency in at least two of the following four areas: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and drywall repair. Experience with residential construction or renovation work, particularly in occupied or multi-unit properties. Ability to perform basic plumbing tasks, including replacing faucets, shower heads, and similar fixtures. Ability to perform basic electrical tasks, including installing ceiling fans and other simple fixtures. Ability to perform basic carpentry tasks, such as installing baseboards, door casings, and related trim. Ability to patch, repair, and occasionally replace sections of drywall to a paint-ready finish. Competence using hand and power tools, including sawzalls, cordless drills or impacts, finish nail guns, and grinders. Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, materials, and light construction equipment. Reliability to work a consistent first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday. Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with painting and surface preparation in residential units. Experience in framing or residential construction projects. Ability to read basic measurements and use standard measuring tools accurately. Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with daily and weekly renovation targets. Openness to feedback and desire to develop skills toward higher technician levels. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a full-time, first-shift role, Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., working on-site in a residential apartment community in Huntington Beach. You will work in teams of two inside vacant apartments, focusing on renovation and refurbishment rather than new construction. The work is hands-on and physically active, involving frequent use of hand and power tools such as sawzalls, cordless drills or impacts, finish nail guns, grinders, and standard carpentry and plumbing tools. The environment is that of an active construction and maintenance setting, with typical noise, dust, and movement of materials. Standard work attire suitable for construction or renovation work is expected, along with adherence to all site safety practices and use of appropriate personal protective equipment as required Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntington Beach, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
