Facility Technician I
At Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI), is the design, technology and engineering arm for all North American models of the Korean-based Hyundai-KIA Automotive Group. We are seeking a motivated, hands-on Facility Technician I to help maintain and enhance our Southern California locations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working in a dynamic environment, and collaborating with diverse teams to ensure facilities operate safely, efficiently, and effectively. In this role, you will support daily facility operations by investigating, identifying, and resolving building-related issues across multiple Southern California sites. Working closely with facility management, building engineering teams, vendors, and employees, this individual plays a key role in maintaining safe, functional, and well-maintained work environments. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in facilities management while gaining exposure to a broad range of operational, maintenance, and administrative responsibilities.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Support daily facility operations across multiple Southern California locations.
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve facility-related issues to maintain safe and efficient workplaces.
Assist with facility projects, including budget tracking and progress monitoring.
Coordinate vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
Manage administrative tasks, including invoice processing and recordkeeping.
Support facility services such as landscaping, janitorial, recycling, and waste management.
Assist with event setup, tear-down, and furniture relocation activities.
Support safety, security, and emergency preparedness programs.
Conduct routine facility inspections and report maintenance concerns.
Collaborate with the building engineering team to support the operation and maintenance of all Southern California sites.
Safely operate hand and power tools as needed.
Travel between locations to support facility operations and special projects.
Perform additional duties and assignments as required.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma / GED / or Relevant Technical Certification
2 years related experience in Facilities /
General Affairs Skills:
Basic knowledge of facility maintenance and building operations
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong customer service and communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Knowledge and safe use of hand and power tools
Physical Demands & Working Environment:
Regular standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting activities
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 60 pounds
Work may be performed in office, warehouse, laboratory, and outdoor environments
Exposure to varying weather conditions and facility operational areas
Occasional use of facility equipment and machinery following safety protocols
Must have valid driver's license
