Residential Groundskeeper & General Maintenance

Job description: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Residential Groundskeeper to support the daily upkeep and maintenance of a private residential estate. This role is responsible for ensuring the property remains clean, safe, and beautifully maintained at all times through routine inspections, landscaping support, and general exterior maintenance. The required schedule for this role is Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. The Groundskeeper works closely with the Estate Manager and assists with special projects, vendors, and day-to-day tasks that help the estate operate smoothly. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform daily property walk-throughs to identify maintenance needs, safety issues, and cleanliness concerns. Maintain outdoor living areas including patios, loggias, pathways, driveways, and courtyards. Support the Estate Manager with projects, vendor oversight, and grounds-related tasks. Maintain pool, spa, and all fountains—skim debris, check water levels, and ensure equipment is functioning properly. Clean and detail estate vehicles and keep the garage and utility areas organized. Manage tools, equipment, and supplies; report repair needs and inventory updates. Ensure proper trash removal and coordinate gate access for service providers. Assist with deliveries and keep all work areas clean and safe. Handle minor repairs including painting, touch-ups, and basic carpentry tasks. Residential Maintenance Duties Clean and pressure-wash stone paths, driveways, decorative features, and exterior surfaces as needed. Maintain roofs, gutters, and conservatory glass through regular cleaning and debris removal. Sand, stain, varnish, or treat wood features such as doors, garage doors, pergolas, and outdoor furniture. Paint exterior surfaces including metal railings, gates, stucco areas, and equipment enclosures.

Maintain all outdoor lighting:

clean lenses, replace bulbs, and ensure proper operation. Care for potted plants, greenhouse mesh, fruit trees, and seasonal vegetation; harvest and trim as appropriate. Maintain recreational areas including tennis court, bocce court, putting green, sand trap, and related equipment. Clean windows, umbrellas, lanterns, and outdoor fixtures; remove cobwebs and debris. Maintain pathways, pavers, and landscaped areas; apply weed control as needed. Inspect and maintain mesh/netting, vent covers, electrical boxes, crawl spaces, and surrounding areas. Replace HVAC air filters and assist with periodic property-wide upkeep tasks. Address occasional wildlife issues (e.g., removing dead animals with animal control). Qualifications Experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture preferred. Knowledge of lawn care techniques and landscaping practices. Ability to operate hand tools (e.g., pruners, shovels) and power tools (e.g., trimmers, blowers). Familiarity with irrigation systems and their maintenance is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions. Valid driver's license is preferred for equipment transportation or site access purposes. Prior experience with land management or general maintenance is advantageous but not required. This role is essential in maintaining the aesthetic appeal and safety of residential properties.

Pay:

$21.00 - $24.00 per hour
