Job Description
We are seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician to join our Team and undertake the responsibility of preserving the good condition and functionality of our multi-family apartment community in beautiful Napa Valley. You will perform a variety of maintenance tasks; including but not limited to basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, appliance installations, drywall, painting, texturing and some landscaping tasks. The ideal candidate will be a reliable professional who pays attention to detail and promotes the best interests of the community, the residents and the property. This candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines. The goal is to maintain apartments, buildings and common areas in the best possible condition. Responsibilities Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs, switches, etc.) Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.) Maintain a well organized maintenance shop and other areas assigned to the maintenance department (storage areas) Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.) Perform routine maintenance service requests (work orders) for residents (basic plumbing and electrical) Perform make ready service to insure vacant apartments are ready to rent Facilitate work with outside vendors (plumbers, etc.) when necessary Conduct annual inspections of apartments, grounds and systems Will reside onsite and enjoy a significant rent reduction on an available apartment of their choice. Be willing to be on-call for emergency maintenance situations This position reports to the Community Director Requirements Proven experience as maintenance technician Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and other systems Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime if necessary for emergency calls High school diploma or equivalent; building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus
