Employee may be exposed to dust, noise, moving equipment, and temperature changes. Proper PPE must be worn when required. Position Overview The Facilities Employee is responsible for supporting the maintenance, cleanliness, and operation of company buildings, grounds, and equipment. This position ensures the facility remains safe, functional, and presentable by performing routine maintenance, repairs, inspections, and general facility support tasks. Technical Responsibilities Perform routine building maintenance and repairs Basic plumbing repairs (leaks, clogs, fixture replacement) Basic electrical work (lights, outlets, minor troubleshooting) HVAC filter changes and basic maintenance Painting, drywall repair, and general building repairs Maintain and repair doors, locks, and hardware Assist with equipment moves and facility setup Maintain exterior areas (trash, weeds, organization, general upkeep) Operate maintenance tools and equipment safely Complete work orders in a timely manner Report major repair issues to Facilities Lead Assist with preventative maintenance tasks Maintain maintenance logs when required Behavioral Responsibilities Follow all safety policies and procedures Maintain a clean and organized work area Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members Demonstrate reliability and good attendance Work independently and as part of a team Maintain a professional attitude Take pride in facility appearance and functionality Leadership Responsibilities (Not a leadership position, but expected behaviors) Lead by example with safety and work ethic Help train new facilities employees when needed Assist other departments when facility support is required Training / Certification Requirements Forklift Certification (Preferred) Scissor Lift Certification (Preferred) Basic OSHA / Safety Training Lockout/Tagout Training (Preferred) Education Requirements High School Diploma or GED preferred Trade school or maintenance experience is a plus Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders Ability to work indoors and outdoors Ability to use hand and power tools safely Performance Standards Employee performance will be measured on: Work order completion time Quality of repairs Facility cleanliness and organization Preventative maintenance completion Safety record Attendance and reliability Teamwork and communication Next-Level Position Facilities Technician Facilities Lead Skills Needed for Promotion Advanced electrical and plumbing skills HVAC knowledge Project coordination Ability to train other employees Strong troubleshooting skills Leadership and communication skills Villara Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
