Our Canopy Division is located in Oxnard, CA. Canopy Beauty Packaging is a manufacturer of beauty and personal care packaging that focuses on product quality and exceptional customer service. Our product lines include a wide variety of jars, closures, and decorated packaging. How would you contribute? This role is a contributing member of our Airlite Plastics team, located in Oxnard, CA. As a Building Maintenance Tech, you are a key to continued growth and success of Airlite. The Building Maintenance Tech will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing mechanical, various systems and infrastructure within assigned facility to uphold safety, functionality and aesthetics.
Essential Duties:
Conduct routine inspections of building systems, equipment, grounds and parking areas to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards and cleanliness issues. Perform preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules to keep systems operating at optimal levels. Address maintenance requests promptly, including repairs to building infrastructure, equipment, systems and fixtures. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems as needed. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections and equipment inventory. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols when performing maintenance tasks or operating equipment. Manage and maintain all necessary city and environmental permits, ensuring accurate reporting and timely renewals. Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections on all material handling equipment, including gas and electric forklifts and lifts. Participate in emergency response procedures, including drills, evacuations and facility shutdowns. Utilize work order systems to track maintenance activities, manage task life cycles, maintain comprehensive records, and generate reporting required for compliance and permitting. Assist with facility improvement projects, renovations or upgrades as assigned. Operate industrial trucks, including forklifts or other motorized rolling stock. Provide technical expertise and guidance to other team members as needed. Maintain housekeeping standards. Attend work regularly as scheduled, including weekend or overtime work as assigned. Report safety concerns to management. Other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:

General knowledge or electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Capability to utilize problem solving skills. Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects/activities/goals. Must be able to work well with others, build partnerships and support team members. Excellent interpersonal skills and tactful in dealing with people at all levels. Must be self-motivated and positive. Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations. Display highest ethical standards. Maintain the utmost level of confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information. Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer skills with the ability to operate Microsoft Office products. Upholds and supports organizational goals and values. /Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Prior maintenance experience preferred.Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hand dexterity to operate office equipment including computer keyboards; reach overhead with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; and stoop or kneel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is seasonally and moderately exposed to wet, humid conditions, cold or heat; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is loud. In this role, you may be required to use, handle and dispose of hazardous materials such as; metal working fluids, alcohol, waste oil and other routine industrial chemicals.
