Maintenance Technician Petaluma, CA (Sonoma County)
Compensation:
$33.00 - $43.00 per hour
DOE Schedule:
Monday-Friday, start time between 6:00 AM and 8:00

Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) with Company Match, Paid Time Off, and Employee Discounts Position Overview Growing food manufacturing company in Petaluma is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support the reliability and performance of production equipment and facility systems. This is a hands-on position responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience working in manufacturing, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical failures on manufacturing and packaging equipment. Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. Troubleshoot equipment using schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and diagnostic tools. Coordinate with vendors and contractors on repairs and technical support. Source and manage spare parts and maintenance supplies. Assist with training and mentoring less experienced maintenance personnel. Participate in equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain compliance with GMP, food safety, OSHA, and company safety standards. Respond to production equipment breakdowns and restore operations quickly. Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders within the CMMS system. Support equipment installations, upgrades, and facility improvement projects. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Technical training, apprenticeship, or trade school education preferred. 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong troubleshooting skills involving motors, electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLCs, HMIs, and controls. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. Experience using CMMS systems. Welding and fabrication experience is a plus. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.
