We are looking for a full-time Window & Door Technician Assistant to join our team. This entry-level, field-based position requires daily travel to jobsites, homes, and other service locations to support evaluations, repairs, replacements, and troubleshooting of window and door products. In this role, you will work alongside an experienced technician, assist with hands-on service work, help maintain a high level of customer satisfaction, and build the skills needed to grow into a Window & Door Service Technician position. The ideal candidate has a natural aptitude for building and fixing, baseline knowledge of tools and construction-related practices, a strong work ethic, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to learn quickly while following safety and quality standards. This position is a field position, daily travel required.
Responsibilities/Job Description:
Assist Window & Door Service Technicians with evaluations, repairs, adjustments, and replacement of window and door products in accordance with company standards and manufacturer guidelines. Support inspection activities by helping assess product condition and identify visible issues related to operation, fit, finish, and installation quality for review by the Service Technician. Prepare tools, materials, hardware, and replacement parts needed for daily service calls and ensure all items are organized and ready for use. Load, unload, transport, and handle service materials, glass, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently. Perform basic service-related tasks under the direction of a Service Technician, including minor adjustments, hardware replacement, jobsite preparation, and cleanup. Observe and assist with troubleshooting product issues related to hardware, alignment, sealing, and general window and door performance. Maintain accurate and up-to-date service documentation, including photos, notes, material usage, and other basic service details. Communicate professionally with homeowners, customers, sales teams, and internal partners while supporting service activities and addressing routine questions appropriately. Maintain service vehicles, tools, and equipment in a clean, organized, and ready-to-use condition. Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards while working in customer homes, jobsites, warehouses, and other field environments. Coordinate with the Service Technician, Service Coordinator, and leadership to support efficient scheduling and timely completion of service tasks. Participate in training and development activities to build product knowledge, technical skills, and service capabilities needed to grow into a Window & Door Service Technician role. Assist with other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications / Experience High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in window and door service or a related field is a plus. 0-2 years of experience in construction, repair, maintenance, field service, or a related hands-on role preferred. Ability to safely operate company vehicles as needed to support job duties and meet company driving requirements, including insurer eligibility standards. Basic experience using hand and power tools preferred. Preferred Qualifications Mechanical aptitude and interest in learning window and door service and repair. Basic knowledge of hand and power tools and safe work practices. Ability to take accurate measurements and use basic math in a field environment. Basic understanding of construction materials, hardware, and service-related tasks. Ability to follow technical direction and apply training in a hands-on setting. Basic computer or mobile device skills for service documentation and communication. Professional communication skills when interacting with customers and internal team members.
