Flexible | Part-Time with Opportunity for Full-Time Growth About Us We are a growing multi-location specialty coffee company serving California's Central Coast and expanding into new markets. We are seeking a hands-on, reliable, and versatile Facilities & Maintenance Technician to help maintain our cafés, warehouse operations, equipment, vehicles, and properties. This is not a traditional maintenance position. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving facilities, organizing operations, and supporting a growing business. One day you may be repairing equipment, the next organizing a warehouse, painting a café, landscaping a property, installing shelving, or helping prepare a new location for opening. The position begins part-time with a flexible schedule and offers the opportunity to grow into a full-time role as the company expands. Position Overview The Facilities & Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining company facilities, equipment, warehouse operations, and grounds across multiple locations. This individual will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, facility improvements, warehouse organization, landscaping, and special projects while ensuring safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision. ResponsibilitiesGeneral Maintenance & Repairs Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and infrastructure Troubleshoot and repair facility, equipment, and operational issues Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using appropriate tools and testing equipment Perform general repairs including carpentry, painting, fixture installation, and facility improvements Coordinate with vendors and contractors when specialized repairs are required Maintain maintenance logs, schedules, and records Coffee Equipment & Operational Support Assist with maintenance and repair of espresso machines, grinders, brewers, refrigeration units, and café equipment Monitor equipment performance and identify preventative maintenance opportunities Support installation and setup of equipment for new locations and remodels Reduce operational downtime through proactive maintenance planning Warehouse & Inventory Organization Organize warehouse inventory, storage systems, and workspaces Assist with receiving deliveries and inventory management Move, assemble, and organize furniture, equipment, and supplies Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment Develop systems that improve organization and operational efficiency Facilities Improvement & Appearance Interior and exterior painting Basic carpentry and construction projects Installation of shelving, displays, signage, and fixtures Store decorating and facility enhancement projects Pressure washing and exterior cleaning Lighting, flooring, and cosmetic repairs Landscaping & Property Maintenance Maintain landscaping and exterior property appearance Perform seasonal maintenance and groundskeeping Remove debris and maintain clean, professional outdoor spaces Ensure all company properties project a positive image to customers and employees Expansion & Special Projects Assist with new store openings, remodels, and renovation projects Support project execution and operational improvements Help prepare locations for inspections and operational readiness Lead or assist with special projects as assigned by leadership Safety & Compliance Conduct inspections of facilities and equipment Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions Follow company safety policies and maintenance best practices Ensure compliance with applicable workplace safety standards QualificationsRequired Experience in facilities maintenance, construction, warehouse operations, or related trades Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general repair work Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and diagrams Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to travel between company locations as needed Preferred Commercial facilities maintenance experience Restaurant, coffee shop, retail, or hospitality maintenance experience Welding, HVAC, plumbing, or electrical experience Experience with maintenance management software (CMMS) Warehouse organization and inventory management experience Supervisory or project leadership experience Forklift certification or equipment operation experience Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in varying environments Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in changing weather conditions Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience Overtime paid in accordance with California labor laws Mileage reimbursement for approved business travel Flexible scheduling Career advancement opportunities Potential transition from part-time to full-time employment Opportunity to grow alongside an expanding company What Success Looks LikeFirst 90 Days Learn company facilities, equipment, and operational systems Complete maintenance requests efficiently and professionally Improve warehouse organization and facility appearance Establish preventative maintenance priorities First Year Significantly reduce equipment downtime and repair costs Improve organization and operational efficiency across all locations Support successful remodels and expansion projects Become a trusted resource for maintenance, facilities, and operational support Help create scalable systems that support future company growth Ideal Candidate You are the type of person who notices problems before anyone else and takes pride in fixing them.
